Pillsbury COVID Social Media Response Campaign

Pillsbury is known as for its helpful tips and tricks, delicious and easy recipes, and the staple products of America - although when the Coronavirus hit – Pillsbury was faced with an entirely new set of challenges.

I was tasked with creating a response campaign for Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest that would be a bright light for our consumers during a dark time - while also starting an entire new look and feel for the Pillsbury social channels.

To address not only the unique concerns of COVID, but to also uphold and foster the helpful nature of the brand - in combination with copywriters - we came up with a visual system to express a set of pre-determined categories, including: Remaining Joyful Messaging, “Can-Do”, Bake Together, and Community Messaging.

To achieve the all new design feel, I created a visual design system for each of the categories, which would be posted at random, to create this new, immersive and inclusive social feed, which was no longer a dump of recipe images.

Betty Crocker’s No Bake Cookie Dough Bites

For the new launch of Betty Crocker’s No Bake Cookie Dough Bites, I was approached by the Betty Crocker team to provide various sets of social and ad creative, utilizing the images we shot in our photoshoot. The creative used bright, vivid colors to “pop” the cookie dough bites off of the screen, and into your mouth. The pop art style not only compliments the nature of the fun, pop-able bites - but also looks bright and summery - perfect for when the product hits stores.

Betty Crocker’s Chilled Treats

Creative campaign concept which was left on the cutting room floor for the launch of Betty Crocker’s new line of single-serve mousse.

This style took an intentional departure from the traditional “Betty” style - and presented this new product in a new, brighter light - which I called “Cool Aunt Betty”. With a unique typographic treatment, paired with a flavor cue color, each look demonstrates the smooth, yet new and fun flavors available within the new Chilled Treats Collection. Paired with quirky, fresh and fun copy, some of which you would swear you’d hear from that “Cool Aunt” of yours… Betty?
